St Mark Catholic School Media Center

The St. Mark Catholic School library media center houses a growing collection of books and other media. At present, the library has over 10,000 titles available to students, faculty, parents and volunteers. All resources within the Media Center Library, as well as volunteers and staff, subscribe to the standards and program guidelines established by the American Association of School Librarians (AASL.)

Our collection continues to be developed using the IMPACT Collection Guidelines as set out by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and meets the criteria to be designated "Outstanding," according to the standards set out by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.

The Media Center is home to one of our state-of-the-art SmartBoards--an interactive teaching tool that combines the power of a computer with the simplicity of a white board. The SmartBoard provides limitless resources and transforms the classroom into centers of interactive learning where students are engaged and teachers inspired.

Our Media Center is also home to our student-led, eight-year running morning TV program 'Lions Live!' which features morning news and announcements daily. Lions Live! members perform a different job each day on the show, from anchor to director, from camera to sound and lights. Membership requires the ability to work as a member of a creative team and the maintenance of an overall academic average of 80.
