The SMCS Home & School Association (HSA) is excited to host the annual Fall Festival this year! The HSA is a new initiative of the 2021-2022 school year, and its mission is to coordinate and bridge the spiritual and educational interactions of the home and school with a program of Catholic child learning. With the interests of parents and faculty in mind, the association offers thorough, well-planned programs and events that help create, foster and enrich a special appreciation for Catholic education.
The Fall Festival will be held on Friday, October 15 from 5-8pm at St. Mark Catholic School. Admission is free, and the family fun event will feature the following and more!

Activities will be held outdoors and indoors. All attendees should follow St. Mark Catholic School’s COVID guidelines, including wearing a mask while indoors. Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the festival.
Parking
Parking is available in the front lots of the church and school. Please enter and exit the front parking lots from Eastwood Road. Members from the Wilmington Fire and Sheriff’s Department will be present during the event.
Food Trucks
There will be four food trucks on-site with items for purchase, including Snowie of the Carolinas, Poor Piggy’s, T-Geaux Boys, and Wheelz Pizza.
Entertainment & Cake Walk
We’ll have music as well as live entertainment from No Sleeves Magic and balloon artist, Peppermint the Clown. Guests and attendees will also have an opportunity to enter a Cake Walk and win a selection of pre-wrapped cakes and baked goods. The Cake Walk will take place in the school gym.
Pumpkin Carving Contest
The Pumpkin Carving Contest begins on Thursday, October 14. Students who wish to participate must bring their pumpkins to school on October 14 between 7:30-9:30am. Judging will take place during the day, and the winners will be announced at the Fall Festival at 6:30pm in the school gym. Prizes include varying cash amounts and a dress down pass for each category. Click HERE to see the full rules and to enter for a chance to win! Entry forms are due by Monday, October 11.
Costume Contest
Students are also invited to enter the Fall Festival Costume Contest! This year, we will be judging the costumes based on four categories: Saints, Police Officers, Firefighters, and Animals. All costumes must be family-friendly and age appropriate. No other costumes are permitted at the festival. The contest will take place in the back parking lot at 6:45pm following the announcement of the winners of the Pumpkin Carving Contest. There will be four winners, one from each category. Prizes include $10 in cash and a dress down pass.
